Students who quickly complete an assignment will be given a choice to work on a coloring page or puzzle, to look quietly for books to check out, use the computers to look up books or information, or look at magazines. They will sit separately from those students still working on their assignments, and they will not wander around the library or gather in groups to chat.
Behavior and Discipline:
Students are expected to respect and be kind to each other and the librarian as teacher, to listen quietly, and to follow the Ten Commandments.
Students will receive two warnings about talking out of turn. After two warnings, the librarian will write a disciplinary report. If the student persists in talking out of turn, that student will be sent to the school office.
Any student who runs and plays (tag, wrestling, etc.) in the library will receive one warning about indoor behavior. If the student runs or plays again, the librarian will write a disciplinary report. If the student persists in the behavior, that student will be sent to the school office.
The librarian will write a disciplinary report for any student who offers injury to another student, whether by accident or with intent.
The librarian will write a disciplinary report for any student who uses foul language or refers to anyone with a racial or disparaging slur.
Any student who deliberately damages or destroys any library supplies, books, or equipment will be sent to the school office, and the librarian will write a disciplinary report. Accidental damage will not be cause for a disciplinary report unless it happens more than once during the class period.
